Texas Tavern (1998)

The Texas Tavern was opened Friday, February 13, 1930, by I.N. (Nick) Bullington. It has since been owned and operated by four generations of his family. Many local and state dignitaries have eaten chili sitting next to the "regulars". Band director Glen Miller always stopped by when in the area. The Tavern is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, still serving their famous "Bowl with" (bowl of chili with onions) and "Cheesey Western" (hamburger patty, egg and cheese on a bun with mustard relish). A quotation on the wall state "We serve 1,000 people, 10 at a time."
